They may not walk the streets in shambles, limping and smelling of rotted flesh, but then again what is a Zombie?
"The body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose."

So basically anyone who is mute and will-less could be considered a Zombie. For the sake of argument let's play make believe. Say you where walking down the street, where you're heading is irrelevant, but you do know that eventually you will arrive at your destination. This is not something that you had to decide, it's just the way of the world. When you leave you are simultaneously going, even if there is no motive. But likewise whenever you leave you are as a by-product moving on to the next place. The same is true about decisions. If I decided tomorrow that i would never right with my left hand again, that that means that I've started my journey into the world of being right-handed. If you never swear again as long as you live, you will most likely find new words to supplement for your retired profanity. So if i one day decided that I no longer wish to conform to the laws of fashion, then in the same step I would be embracing the idea of non-fashion. I would have to think independently about what I ought to look like. Everyday would be a brain-game of stringing together an outfit of brand-less clothing. In retrospect that would be the purest way to dress. I'm not sure what the wold sees as progress when people are walking around in what could be considered free advertising. The true beauty of the clothing market is just that, it wasn't actually free. Any time you pull on your Victoria's Secret yoga pants you become a billboard with legs. Generally speaking a business has to rent their billboards, but in this strange scenario you actually paid them to become their billboard. It's the perfect crime, make people feel like they have no identity, build a level of self-cautiousness that borders on suicidal and then pawn your own image off onto them in their time of weakness. Before today I never really realized the backwardness of this business format but now it sickens me.

So if the fashion industry is actually creating Zombies, then what is their grand scheme here? Surely it's not the money, don't get me wrong I do believe that charging 90 bucks for some flannel is outrageous, but money is everywhere. It has to be something more benevolent that that. What if the whole fashion industry is run by an evil scientist that wants nothing more than to wrap everyone in his poorly crafted clothing and laugh as they argue about who's was more expensive. Yes, I think that may be it. Perhaps he get's some sick satisfaction out of selling a product that's made for pennies and making a mint off of each article. Maybe this is just the beginning. Surely you're familiar with the way Zombies work, every thing is fine until one day someone get's infected. It then spreads like wild fire until the population is more Zombie than not, and the lone survivors are made leathery and strong. Perhaps this is case 0. The first outbreak before the great cleansing actually beings. Evil mastermind or not, one thing is to be said for the fashion moguls of the world, they certainly have succeeded in the mass production of Zombies.. The infection is real.
